Let's Make a Scrappy Crochet Blanket! Series Intro

I recently purchased a blanket pattern off of Ravely, The Phoenix blanket by Hooked on Sunshine.  (Go check it out and buy it, you won't regret it!) I didn't follow the colorways that was suggested in the pattern, in fact, I didn't use the proper gauge.  But that's what I do.

It worked up so lovely and BIG, I only crocheted half the pattern before I decided it was a perfect lap blanket.  I gave it to my mother-in-law for Mother's Day and she loves it!

But that's not what this post is about.  I have lots of leftover yarn from that project.  I'm going to use it up by making a sampler blanket! If you're a beginner, like me, this is a great way to learn your stitches, tension, etc.!

I'll be updating this post as an index as I go, with links to future posts containing the “pattern”. So follow along with me and let's create my first blanket pattern!
