My "Real" Pattern Review

This pattern deserves a real and honest review.  Andrea over at Wickedly Handmade absolutely out did herself with this pattern.  At only $5.99 for the pdf (click here to purchase from her site) it is wonderful and a workhorse of a pattern if you are creating them for sale. Which she allows with proper credit, and from what I've seen from the fiber artists that make them for sale, they are a hot item!!

As a fairly new beginning crocheter, this pattern pushed me a bit.  It has a few "tricky" stitches in it, but the pattern completely shows you how with great detailed pictures and instructions. Once you get the hang of your stitches, it works up fairly easy and fast-ish (there's a lot of rows).  Your end results are worth any little trouble you may have.  As I said, the pattern really goes into how to make the stitches.

On top of the beautiful pictures, the detailed instructions also tell you how to make the scarf in adult, youth, toddler, child, AND baby sizes! Who wouldn't want their whole family in this comfy scarf?

Unfortunately, I did not take any good still pictures of my scarves, but you can see MY finished products in the video above and the one below. So let's rate this baby, shall we?

Rating the Pattern

  • Difficulty level : above a beginner, but if your read the instruction through a few times, it's very easy to understand.  There may be some frogging involved, and some crying, but don't let that stop you.  Even if you only know how to single crochet and double crochet, you can do this pattern. Take your time.
  • Clear Instruction : 5 out of 5 stars -- oh yes! very clear instructions
  • Detailed Pictures : 5 out of 5 stars -- yeppers!
  • Overall Rating : 5 out of 5 stars -- beautiful, can't wait to make more. until I find a "rating system" I like, stars will do for now :)
 5 out of 5 stars

I definitely recommend purchasing this pattern for a comfy scarf to work up for the entire family.  Or a bunch just for yourself. I, personally, have made a few...

so yeah. go buy the pattern and make it!
