The Treble Crochet stitch is also known as the Triple Crochet stitch.
Let's just jump into how to do a treble crochet stitch.
The Basic Instructions
- Yarn over the hook, twice.
- Insert the hook into the stitch on the row/round below the current position.
- Grab the working yarn with the hook and pull through to make another loop on the hook.
- Yarn over the hook and pull through the first 2 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over the hook and pull through the next 2 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over the hook and pull through the last 2 loops on the hook.
A Little More Info
When starting at the beginning of a row/round, a treble crochet stitch (trc) needs 3 or 4 chains to give your row the correct height. You can also start with a chainless starting treble crochet. I found a good YouTube video from Tamara Kelly. I feel that it's a bit fiddly to start a row like that, I like to start with the chains.

In Conclusion:
I have used the treble crochet in a lot of patterns, it is very versatile when needing extra visual or texture elements.
